WEEK 5

Project 2B :

  • Double exposure
    - Exercise 1: Follow the tutorial
There is a tutorial video on how to do double exposure in adobe photoshop. I download all 5 images below given by Mr. Fauzi. Through the video, I learned about various effects such as cutting out objects I want to use in Photoshop using various tools, adding color, and giving light and shade with these pictures.

This is my outcome as much as same to the tutorial video.

  • Double exposure
Exercise 2: Your own Double Exposure portrait
Figure 1.3  l  Elements

I used 3 elements with my selfie to do a double exposure based on the exercises above. I used Adobe Photoshop to use light and contrast, color change, clarity control, and tool-cutting functions. I tried to use all the techniques I learned through tutorial videos. This is my final outcome of double exposure using my own portrait of Project 2B.

WEEK 6

Project 2A :

  • Digital imaging exercise 1
    - Photo Manipulation (Hearst Mansion)
For this exercise, I had to cut and edit "Shazam" into the Hearst Mansion and also edit ourselves as a full body into the Hearst Mansion as well. First, I needed to import Shazam's image into Photoshop and remove the background using the Quick Selection Tool. For the next step, I had to transport him and reduce in size inside the Hearst Mansion.

Then I changed Shazam to a color scheme that was more appropriate for the Hearst Mansion using the Match Color tool. Then, to make the shadow appear more realistic, I created one on a separate layer using the brush tool and the Gaussian Blur effect. Lastly, I added him on the pool to express the reflection of Shazam in the water and used brightness and light, and shade to give him a more natural and realistic.

Then, I had to shoot and edit my own portrait as a full body in the Hearst mansion. Next, I put myself in a different location to stand and try to make it as realistic as I am in the Hearst mansion by using a lot of tools such as shadow, brightness/darkness, and so on.

WEEK 7

Project 2A :

  • Digital imaging exercise 2
    Recoloring Black & White
Just like before, there are two activities: coloring all black and white pictures directly using the pictures given through the tutorial video and doing it on my own by choosing between the pictures given by the professor. I took a sample of the color I wanted and kept it as a swatch on the canvas. First, color the areas you need to color, such as eyes, mouth, and skin, and then select the layer and go to Properties > Select and Mask > Edge Brush Tool Trim to create details. You can use a brush to select detailed strands of hair. The two images below are black & white pictures given that I chose.
